The story of the Amazfit Balance

The Balance set out to read the body, not just the workout: a wrist sensor estimates body fat and muscle mass, and a morning readiness score built with a sleep specialist suggests how hard to push.

Chapters

  1. 2023

    Reading the body

The first Balance ran Zepp OS 3.0 from $229.99 and paired a heart-rate sensor with a bioelectric impedance sensor for body composition. Its readiness score was developed with behavioural sleep expert Dr Lisa Meltzer, and Zepp Aura played AI-driven sleep soundscapes. Tap-to-pay worked in 31 countries.

  2. 2025

    Built for water and HYROX

Balance 2 arrived on 24 June 2025 at $299.99 with a 1.5-inch sapphire-glass AMOLED up to 2,000 nits, 10 ATM water resistance and dive tracking. It claimed 21 days of battery and over 170 sport modes, including three for HYROX, the race series for which Amazfit is official timekeeper.

  3. 2025

    A strap without a screen

Alongside Balance 2, Amazfit launched the Helio Strap, a screenless band for round-the-clock heart rate, sold for $99.99 or bundled at $379.99. Balance 2 was also Amazfit's first watch with full in-round golf features, with maps for more than 40,000 courses.

Moments

2025. Balance 2 supports freediving and scuba diving to 45 m.

2023. An optional Body Composition Analyzer Mat let first-generation owners take deeper body measurements than the wrist sensor alone.

Amazfit Balance band sizes: 22 mm (46 to 51.8 mm cases · quick-release spring bars).

Help

What is lug width?

The gap between the two lugs that hold the strap, in millimetres. A new strap must match it exactly: 20 mm lugs take a 20 mm strap.

Measure it in 30 seconds

  1. Take the strap off, or look at the back of it: many straps print their width.
  2. Measure the inside gap between the lugs with a caliper or a millimetre ruler.
  3. Round to the nearest whole millimetre. Most watches use 18, 20 or 22 mm.

Strap, quick release or system?

Most watches use spring bars, so any strap of the right width fits. Many smartwatches use their own band system instead, such as Apple Watch bands or Garmin QuickFit.
