Commissioned at 23 to design a watch marking the SAS polar flights, Genta drew the Polarouter with its two-layer dial and twisted lugs; the SAS-dial ref. 20217-6 is the first execution. No source credits him with the later Polerouter Sub itself.
Gerald Genta is documented as the designer of Universal Genève Polerouter Sub, Omega Constellation, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, Patek Philippe Nautilus…. Each watch links to its strap size and story.
Working freelance for Omega from 1959, Genta refreshed the Constellation; auction houses credit him with the C-shape case that opened the third generation in 1964 with ref. 168.009, and Sotheby's also counts barrel-cased and pie-pan Constellations among his designs.
