The story of the Omega De Ville Prestige
Omega's quiet dress line has run since 1994 with the same triple-apple bezel and Roman numerals. In 2024 Cillian Murphy collected both the BAFTA and the Oscar for Best Actor wearing a green-dial De Ville Prestige.
- 1960 to 1993 So slim it hugs your wrist De Ville began as the dressy side of the Seamaster, the Seamaster De Ville, and became a collection of its own in 1967.
- 1994 to 2011 The Prestige is born The first De Ville Prestige models arrived in 1994, named for their contemporary design and slim style.

So slim it hugs your wrist
De Ville began as the dressy side of the Seamaster, the Seamaster De Ville, and became a collection of its own in 1967. A 1960s advertisement promised an Omega so slim it hugs your wrist, a line Omega still quotes for the Prestige.
- 1994 to 2011
The Prestige is born
The first De Ville Prestige models arrived in 1994, named for their contemporary design and slim style. They introduced the linked bracelet and the triple-apple bassine case that every later generation kept. Omega's archive lists a 1994 steel model, ST 168.1050, at 34.70 mm with an automatic chronometer calibre 1109/1120.
- 2012 to 2021
Co-Axial chronometers
A second generation arrived in 2012 with chronometer-certified Co-Axial movements. The gents' time-and-date model measured 39.5 mm and ran on Co-Axial calibre 2500, and its steel bracelet closed with a sliding clasp.
- 2022 to 2024
Third generation, Master Chronometer
On 27 October 2022 Omega launched a third generation: every mechanical model became a Master Chronometer, the gents' cases grew to 40 and 41 mm, and Sedna gold replaced red gold. Dials were hollowed underneath to keep the cases slim around thicker movements, and the bracelets were re-proportioned with butterfly clasps. Swatch Group Japan counted 138 versions across six models.

Red carpets and a date hand
At the 2024 BAFTAs four men wore De Ville Prestige models, led by Cillian Murphy, who wore his again to win the Oscar. In 2025 the line gained 42 mm models whose date is read by a crescent moon hand on calibre 8936.

2021. In No Time To Die, Omega's ninth Bond film, Naomie Harris's Moneypenny wears a 27.4 mm De Ville Prestige on a hunter green strap while Daniel Craig's Bond wears a Seamaster.
2012. George Clooney wore a red gold De Ville Prestige Small Seconds as Matt King in The Descendants, the role that won him the Golden Globe for Best Actor and an Oscar nomination announced on 24 January 2012.

Three smaller sizes completed the third generation: a 34 mm automatic on calibre 8800 and 30 mm and 27.5 mm quartz models on calibre 4061, whose metal casebacks carry the God Chronos medallion.
Between the lugs: 16 mm on the 34 mm, 14 mm on the 30 mm, 13 mm on the 27.5 mm; bracelets close with a butterfly clasp.

A 32.7 mm ladies' model whose mother-of-pearl dial carries a butterfly, a motif tied to love and longevity in Chinese popular culture. This diamond-set steel and red gold version runs on Co-Axial calibre 2500.
